Case Study – Medite Smartply Future Supply Chain Strategy – July 2018
Vision Logistics Consultancy Services Limited was engaged by Medite Smartply to look at various supply chain scenarios relating to the distribution of timber products from its manufacturing sites in Clonmel and Waterford in the Republic of Ireland.
The core brief was to look at the feasibility of using UK warehouses to provide stock and service benefits, value-added new services, and to mitigate the uncertainty of Brexit.
Data was analysed to ascertain which areas of the UK could be potentially serviced from these warehouses, which locations were suitable for warehousing, which method of transport should be used to feed into the warehouses, how many warehouses were needed to service the UK business, and what the impact would be on remaining direct deliveries to customers from the Republic of Ireland.
Vision Logistics provided firm and decisive recommendations on all the areas requested in the brief to the full satisfaction of Medite Smartply.

Case Study - LEVC - Logistics Improvement - November 2018 to Feb 2021
LEVC appointed Dave as Head of Logistics to tackle a number of key challenges within our business in 2019. These primarily related to the inconsistency of the flow of parts to lineside, and the high level of costs associated with this sub-optimal process. Under his tenure, the parts replenishment process into site has significantly improved which has lead to a target stock levels being reviewed and a 40% reduction in raw material stock value being achieved. In addition, there have also been major reductions in both standard and emergency freight costs through the introduction of UK “milk runs” and a parts consolidation centre in China. A number of key logistics processes have been developed, documented and implemented, including a full review of how the ERP system is used to create supplier parts schedules. Finally, Dave project managed the seamless closure of LEVC’s legacy site without any interruption to parts supply into Production. LEVC have been highly satisfied with the impressive results that Dave has delivered for the business.
