Dave has been leading and managing operations within the logistics industry for over 25 years after graduating with an honours degree in Transport and Distribution from the University of Huddersfield in 1991. Dave also holds both the National and International CPC qualification, and has completed the General Managers’ Programme at Cranfield University. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Dave has vast experience working in the automotive, food and construction industries for customers like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Glanbia, Milk Marque, Travis Perkins, Saint Gobain and Wolseley. Dave’s employment history has included roles with Kodak, NYK Logistics, Ryder, Inchcape and Wavin.
Dave specialises in identifying and implementing cost, service and safety improvements within transport and warehousing environments. This covers a whole range of areas such as productivity efficiencies, warehouse or depot footprint, inventory control, delivery policy and service level agreements, operational health checks and safety reviews.
His most recent achievements have included a reduction in freight costs over a five-year period from 14% to 9% of NT0 and leading a successful freight tender process that concluded in the seamless transition from one leading UK logistics provider to another without any service disruption to customers. He has also implemented a warehouse layout change which significantly reduced travelling time and increased picking productivity by 15% and introduced logistics safety initiatives through collaboration with both customers and logistics providers.
